On a working ranch the daily activities are often determined by the needs of the farmer and the season, and cattle drives will only run at certain times of year. Some ranch holidays focus more on trail rides through spectacular scenery rather than working cattle but Western riding is the usual style. Ranch holidays are not restricted to the USA either - you can herd horses in Chile, round-up sheep in Iceland or work with chagras in Ecuador.
