Registration at the Ranch is at 15:00. Once checked-in, you will have a chance to settle into your room before dinner.

Important: The following itinerary will serve just as a guide for you to know which activities are offered on-site. The ranch team offers a day-to-day programme where you can select different activities throughout the day. Please note that not all activities are offered every day, there is a set schedule for this. A list of the activities can be found below the ''dates and prices' tab. Archery, badminton, bicycles, and volleyball are all available daily to guests.
  • Day 2 2: LINDEN TREE RANCH - No riding

    Linden Tree
You will be transferred to the mountains, where you and the kids can choose from multiple activities. On Mondays and Fridays the horses are usually given a rest day, so there will be no riding.

Depending on your arrival day, an option would be go on a hike today - and in the afternoon, children will be invited to participate in the "Little Bear's club", a fun, outdoor educational program for children aged 4 to 12. Children enjoy a host of adventures designed to inspire and foster an appreciation for the outdoors and provide education on Croatia’s history and tradition. From learning to care for animals at the Barn, to exploring the banks of Ranch Creek for local flora and fauna, this is a great way to introduce them to the outdoors.

    Overnight at the ranch.

    Linden Tree
Today you will meet the horses and enjoy your first day in the saddle. This morning, you could get a western riding lesson to get to know your horse a bit better and learn about horsemanship. Or why not join a trail ride? Ride into the forest and admire the natural surroundings. Your guides will take you to the most beautiful scenic locations where you will be able to stop from time to time to snap some amazing photos of the incredible landscapes.

Note: Every riding day you will be able to choose between a scenic trail ride or a fast trail ride.

    Linden Tree
This morning you could decide to explore the surroundings like a true cowboy with a "Ghost town ride". Ride across the mountains and explore this country's incredible flora and fauna. Explore on horseback the mountainous trails and arrive at a ghost town where you will stop for a quick lunch. Take a different trail back to the ranch, arriving just in time for dinner. Those who do not ride can join on bikes or jeeps.

    Linden Tree
If you are feeling a bit more confident in the saddle, today you might go on a fast trail ride and set out to explore the mountains. Trot and canter along the way and give galloping a try on a nearby field. After lunch, it will be the kids' turn to hop in the saddle and enjoy a ride around the ranch.

    Linden Tree
Another option is geocaching - an activity that combines the Ranch's western heritage for treasure hunting with modern-day technology. Using GPS devices and coordinates, individual guests and groups locate hidden boxes on thousands of acres of beautiful Velebit Mountain. Adults and families choose between intermediate or expert levels, allowing them to customize their search by ability and time constraints. Children search for boxes while learning about nature, history, geography and topography. “Hiking with a purpose” is a great way to become acquainted with our corner of the European wilderness.

Or perhaps glide along in a canoe on Lika River canyon. Enjoy the exercise when the wind is down and the river is still. Get your heart rate up while basking in the sunshine and splashing a paddle in the cool water. Depending on a water level, up to four prehistoric dams will have to be negotiated by taking your canoe on your shoulders while crossing a pile of ancient rocks. Keep your eye out for wildlife while paddling.

    Linden Tree
This morning you may start the day exploring yet another trail inside Velebit Nature Park. After lunch, why not opt-in for a final riding lesson. Your guides will be showing you some great horsemanship techniques to communicate and strengthen your relationship with the horses.

Dinner and overnight at the ranch
